Sheldon R-VIII

The Sheldon R-VIII School District, in the Central region, enrolls about 190 students at one elementary school and one high school (grades 7-12).
Mission
The purpose of the Sheldon R-VIII School District is to provide an educational environment, which recognizes each student as a unique individual. This environment will foster and accelerate their intellectual, physical, social, and career development while encouraging each student to give his or her best efforts to their daily responsibilities. Through the encouragement and support of everyone in our community we will build a firm foundation for our educational program.

Sheldon Elementary 2010 Highlight
“MIM has really helped Sheldon to keep a focus on what needs to be accomplished for us to be successful.  We used the MIM action plan to help begin guiding our district to success and built several other plans around the MIM plan.  Reviewing the successes of our plan each month helped to give us small celebrations along the way; while we did not complete everything in our plan we sure can see that we have made some tremendous strides.”

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education works with educators, legislators, agencies and citizens through its statewide school-improvement initiatives and regulatory functions to assure that all citizens have access to high-quality public education from early childhood to adult education.
